Children and Teens

Putting your trust in someone to work with your child or teen can be scary. I provide space for your child where they can express their feelings and concerns openly, without judgement, as they navigate the challenges unique to their lives. Whether they are struggling with

anxiety, depression, ADHD or other attention challenges, anger outbursts, trauma, suicidal ideations, self-harming or problem sexual behaviors

I provide help to young people by giving them the right tools and support they need to handle tough situations, form positive relationships, and bounce back from challenges. I also help them learn how to express themselves and handle their feelings in a positive way.

Parent/Guardian Involvement

As a mental and behavioral health professional with over 10 years of experience, I value effective communication and collaboration with guardians to support their child’s progress in therapy. Regular collaboration allows us to address new concerns and adapt services to the youth’s needs. Parent and guardian involvement also reinforces therapy techniques in everyday life and ensures progress is seen at home, school, and in social settings.

A different approach to challenging behaviors

Certified in Collaborative Problem Solving

Are you struggling with your child/teen's difficult behaviors and feel like you've tried everything? I truly believe that every child/teen wants to succeed in life and their behaviors aren't intentional attempts to cause trouble or drive you crazy. I’m certified in Collaborative Problem Solving®, a trauma informed approach that embraces the idea of neurodiversity, that each individual is unique and should be respected for their strengths and differences, and that all kids (and adults!) do well if they can.

Instead of focusing on managing behaviors with consequences, this problem-solving approach empowers caregivers to identify the underlying issues that trigger difficult behaviors. Through collaboration, we will work to understand your child/teen’s perspective, needs, and challenges, so we can address the root causes and find lasting solutions.

Collaborative Problem Solving® approach is developed by Think:Kids, a program based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
